Roosevelt High School students in Portland, Oregon introduce the Magic of Theater to young students
Things have been going really well with our rehearsals. I have a great cast! They are working really hard and enjoying the process! At the end of rehearsal yesterday, the students just kept standing around. I finally told them, "Hey, practice is over. You guys can go home now." One student replied, "It's over, really? I love play practice so much I hate it when we have to go home!" My heart swelled with happiness at this.

From The Kansas City Kansan report about the grant to Arrowhead Middle School, in Kansas City, Kansas:
The school will be using the grant to produce a full-length play, according to William Brame, theatre teacher. He believes that students thrive on the excitement of theatre and when exposed to the joys and rigors of putting on a play.
"We had many very qualified applicants, yet Arrowhead Middle Schools application stood out because of their commitment to developing a threatre program in an inner-city school, where the performing arts are currently sadly underserved," said Steven Fendrich, publisher of Pioneer Drama Service.
